Trendy restaurants in Calgary. Cook-your-own-steak at the Last Chance Saloon. Gin in Turnery Valley. Beef jerky in Longview. Wieners in Waterton. There are so many food & drink adventures in Alberta--and many are locally sourced from farms, ranches and mountains of Alberta. Meat is definitely on the menu but don't miss some of the other highlights throughout the region. Loved the brother-run Wieners of Waterton & next door Waffleton for lunch or breakfast. Don't miss Eau Claire Distillery for some of the tastiest gins & vodkas I've ever had. Also, I enjoyed checking out the hip restaurants in Calgary serving up different fare. Ten Foot Henry has incredible vegetables, Sidewalk Citizen Bakery has outstanding coffee and pastries, Anejo has amazing Mexican, The Container Bar has casual far...

Most beautiful place in Canada is hands down Lake Louise in Alberta with its azure blue waters and giant glaciers. I went for a 11 hours hike through rough terrain, snow, ice and steep climbs covering 17.3 kilometers. My Survival Guide can be found on my blog: http://www.reformatt.com/survival-guide-lake-louise I was lucky not running into any flesh hungry bears during my solo hike on the way back down. It was a huge mistake not bringing bear spray. You need a lot of stamina if you want to include the Abbot Pass Viewpoint, the Beehive and Lake Agnus in a one-day hike but trust me, it will be worth every drop of sweat! Together with my friends from Holland we spent an entire day at this mesmerizing place, and fortunately it being one of the best days of the year. Early June is highly re...

Day 32 Calgary, Alberta, Canada a tourist
Beatiful Places To See- The Canadian Rockies Banff National Park Lake Louise: This beautiful turquoise lake rimmed with mountains is a Canadian icon. Accessible year-round, but the lake may be frozen from late October to early June; the classic turquoise color may not develop until around July. A paved pathway (wheelchair, stroller/pushchair accessible) follows the lakeshore for a considerable distance. Moraine Lake: This magnificent glacial lake and its Valley of the Ten Peaks graced Canada's. Many visitors feel it is more beautiful than its famous neighbor, Lake Louise, a 20-minute drive away. An easy walk (0.5km / 0.3 mi, 15-20 minutes of walking) leads to the Rock pile viewpoint. The Moraine Lake road is closed to vehicles from early October to late May; exact dates are weather-depen...
