Alberta (/ælˈbɜːrtə/) is a western province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4,196,457 as of July 1, 2015, it is Canada's fourth-most populous province and the most populous of Canada's three prairie provinces. Alberta and its neighbour Saskatchewan were districts of the Northwest Territories until they were established as provinces on September 1, 1905. The premier has been Rachel Notley since May 2015.
Alberta is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north, and the US state of Montana to the south. Alberta is one of three Canadian provinces and territories to border only a single US state and one of only two landlocked provinces. It has a predominantly Humid continental climate, but seasonal temperature average swings are smaller than to areas further east, with winters being warmed by occasional chinook winds bringing sudden warming which moderates average temperatures.
Alberta's capital Edmonton is near the geographic centre of the province and is the primary supply and service hub for Canada's crude oil, oil sands (Athabasca oil sands) and other northern resource industries.
A restaurant (/ˈrɛstərənt/ or /ˈrɛstərɒnt/; French: [ʀɛs.to.ʁɑ̃]) is a business which prepares and serves food and drinks to customers in exchange for money, either paid before the meal, after the meal, or with an open account. Meals are generally served and eaten on the premises, but many restaurants also offer take-out and food delivery services, and some only offer take-out and delivery. Restaurants vary greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of cuisines and service models ranging from inexpensive fast food restaurants and cafeterias to mid-priced family restaurants, to high-priced luxury establishments. In Western countries, most mid- to high-range restaurants serve alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. Some restaurants serve all the major meals, such as breakfast, lunch and dinner (e.g., major fast food chains, diners, hotel restaurants, and airport restaurants). Other restaurants may only serve a single meal (e.g., a pancake house may only serve breakfast) or they may serve two meals (e.g., lunch and dinner).
Alberta Culture and Tourism, is a ministry of the Executive Council of Alberta. It was created on 15 September 2014 and is responsible for “Alberta’s cultural industries, tourism, the arts, heritage and nonprofit/voluntary sector” as well as sport and recreation.
The culture, tourism, and recreation functions of Alberta’s government, have on several occasions in past been overseen by separate ministers, and they have also been, more than once, sections within the portfolio of the same minister. They have also each been joined to still other government departments at various points.
A separate tourism ministry goes back at least to 1968 when Allen R. Patrick was named Minister of Industry and Tourism. From 1971 to 1975, tourism as an issue was assigned to a minister without a portfolio, and there was no separate tourism department. In 1979 Tourism and Small Business became a separate ministry, renamed simply “Tourism” in 1985. In the major restructuring of 1992, Tourism was reunited with Economic Development; Parks and Recreation was added as well. This situation was mostly static for the next two decades. The ministry, from 2006 to 2014 was known as Alberta Tourism, Parks, and Recreation (TPR).
Edmonton i/ˈɛdməntən/ is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton is on the North Saskatchewan River and is the centre of the Edmonton Capital Region, which is surrounded by Alberta's central region.
The city had a population of 877,926 in the 2014 census, making it Alberta's second-largest city and Canada's fifth-largest municipality. This population represents 66 percent of the total 2014 population of 1,328,300 within the Edmonton census metropolitan area (CMA), Canada's fifth-largest CMA by population. Edmonton is the northernmost North American city with a metropolitan population over one million. A resident of Edmonton is known as an Edmontonian.
Edmonton's historic growth has been facilitated through the absorption of five adjacent urban municipalities (Strathcona, North Edmonton, West Edmonton, Beverly and Jasper Place) and a series of annexations ending in 1982. Edmonton serves as the northern anchor of the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. Known as the "Gateway to the North", the city is a staging point for large-scale oil sands projects occurring in northern Alberta and large-scale diamond mining operations in the Northwest Territories.

Canada (i/ˈkænədə/; French: [ka.na.da]) is a country in the northern part of North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest land border. Canada is sparsely populated, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra and the Rocky Mountains; about four-fifths of the country's population of 35 million people live near the southern border. The majority of Canada has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer.
The land now called Canada has been inhabited for millennia by various Aboriginal peoples. Beginning in the 15th century, British and French colonies were established on the Atlantic coast, with the first establishment of a region called "Canada" occurring in 1537. As a consequence of various conflicts, the United Kingdom gained and lost territories within British North America until left, in the late 18th century, with what mostly geographically comprises Canada today. Pursuant to the British North America Act, on July 1, 1867, the colonies of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia joined to form the autonomous federal Dominion of Canada. This began an accretion of provinces and territories to the self-governing Dominion to the present ten provinces and three territories forming modern Canada. In 1931, Canada achieved near total independence from the United Kingdom with the Statute of Westminster 1931, and full sovereignty was attained when the Canada Act 1982 removed the last remaining ties of legal dependence on the British parliament.

Trendy restaurants in Calgary. Cook-your-own-steak at the Last Chance Saloon. Gin in Turnery Valley. Beef jerky in Longview. Wieners in Waterton. There are so many food & drink adventures in Alberta--and many are locally sourced from farms, ranches and mountains of Alberta. Meat is definitely on the menu but don't miss some of the other highlights throughout the region. Loved the brother-run Wieners of Waterton & next door Waffleton for lunch or breakfast. Don't miss Eau Claire Distillery for some of the tastiest gins & vodkas I've ever had. Also, I enjoyed checking out the hip restaurants in Calgary serving up different fare. Ten Foot Henry has incredible vegetables, Sidewalk Citizen Bakery has outstanding coffee and pastries, Anejo has amazing Mexican, The Container Bar has casual far...

To guide you in your quest for beer perfection, we've split our unique draft list into 4 different levels. If you're new to craft beer, you'll find plenty of quality brews in the 100 level that won't overpower your taste buds. On the other hand, if you don't get out of bed for anything less than an 8% beer that smacks you in the face with taste and complexity, you'll feel more at home in the 400's. No matter which level you think you belong in, remember that it's important to experiment, as comfort zones are for the weak. Cheers! 100 Level Dr...

Considering Banff National Park is one of the world's most visited, it might seem obvious that most tourists would skip right past the former coal-mining town of Canmore, located right outside the park. But this is not the case. Ever since the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, of which Nordic events were held around Canmore, the town has been maintaining a name for itself as an individual destination. Beyond being a place where Olympians still train, Canmore offers travelers opportunities for winter recreation. In mid August I had a 5 day trip to Calgary Alberta. We spent the trip exploring the city, visiting the Rockys and meeting new people. The trip started out a little rough with little sleep and a 5 hour flight delay. Once we arrived we did a day trip to Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, & Banff. The main purpose of the trip was to attend Mark and Ashleys wedding, which was beautiful. It was such a wonderful 5 days and I fell in love with Alberta. _________ Most Recent Main Channel Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBS0h-F4B0s&t=12s Latest Vlog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3sApJssfw8 _________ SOCIALS // Twitter: https://twitter.com/ClassicKatieYT // Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/classickatieyt // Vlog Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA-w... // Pinterest: http://pint...

An easy walk (0.5km / 0.3 mi, 15-20 minutes of walking) leads to the Rock pile viewpoint. The Moraine Lake road is closed to vehicles from early October to late May; exact dates are weather-depen...
